ANU Development and Governance Research Network (DGRNET)

The ANU encompasses an impressive number of scholars, including several leading academics, conducting research on development and governance. Expertise in these fields exists across a range of centres and schools across the ANU such as CAEPR, NCIS, RegNet, the Crawford School, Anthropology, Sociology and the Law. In addition to creating a centralised online presence the objective of the Development and Governance Research Network (DGRNET) is to harness and enhance ANU’s capacity in these field by fostering new cross-disciplinary research collaborations across campus.

DGRNET was Launched on 2 May 2018 by Professor Jim Ife. The activities of the network are directed at building synergies and knowledge about theories and methodologies that are useful across this space including to urban indigenous development research.

Over the 2018-2020 period, the network will host a series of events and activities, including a symposium at the ANU in 2020. The symposium will bring together leading national and international visiting scholars and leading to the publication of an edited monograph.

Look up for our upcoming events.

The network is an initiative funded by an ANU Futures Scheme. Associate Professor Howard-Wagner has received funding under this scheme that will allow the network to host a series of events in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
