New CAEPR Working Paper on Yawuru Indigenous population survey of Broome
Friday 29 June 2012
CAEPR's latest Working Paper (No. 82/2012), Statistics for Community Governance: The Yawuru Indigenous Population Survey of Broome, presents a case study of an exercise in Aboriginal community governance. Authors John Taylor, Bruce Doran, Maria Parriman and Eunice Yu examine how the Yawuru people have set a precedent in launching and administering their own 'Knowing our Community' household survey in Broome. They consider the implications of this survey and its findings for internal planning and community development in the post-native title determination era. The working paper is available for download here.
